Sheldrake Point Winery

Brief History

Sheldrake Point Winery is named for the prominent point of land on which it sits, located on the western shore of Cayuga Lake. Operated as an orchard and dairy farm from 1850 to the mid-1980s, the 155-acre lakeshore farm lay fallow until 1997 when a small group of wine enthusiasts organized the purchase of the land and founded the winery.

Today, Sheldrake Point Winery continues the agricultural tradition with 57 acres of vineyard planted to ten vitis vinifera varieties, which are used to make approximately 8,500 cases of estate grown, produced, and bottled table and ice wines.

Sheldrake Point Winery was twice named New York State Winery of the Year, and has been listed among the Top 100 Wineries by Wine & Spirits magazine in three different years.

Members become part of our vibrant wine community, engaging with our staff and with each other through tastings, events, and social media. Whether your visit includes a private vineyard tour, or tasting and exploring alongside our winemakers, you will be immersed in the experience of what it’s like to be a Finger Lakes estate winery.

DEVOTEES WINE CLUB:

- Receive six pre-selected bottles (two bottles of each of our three featured releases) OR any six bottles of your choosing twice per year (March and September)
- Choose between having the wines shipped for a flat fee of $20 or picking up at our tasting room
- The cost will vary per shipment, reflecting the six bottles and the 20% Club discount (typically $90 - $130)
- 20% discount on all Sheldrake Point wines and merchandise, and 10% discount on winery event tickets
- Complimentary tours and tastings for members + 2 guests (tours must be scheduled with our wine club manager in advance)
- Shipping included on additional wine purchases at time of Wine Club shipment
- Access to our member-exclusive Facebook group where you can share photos, recipes, and more with other members
